Craftsmanship in Every Cut
In a world full of shortcuts and mass production, there’s still something deeply satisfying about a piece of wood that’s been shaped, sanded, and finished by hand. At Reynolds Woodworking, every board starts the same way: with quality hardwood, attention to detail, and the belief that craftsmanship still matters.
That belief didn’t come from a factory—it came from watching my father work with his hands. Long before Reynolds Woodworking had a name, I learned that doing something the right way takes time, patience, and pride in the process. That lesson still guides every board that leaves the shop.
More Than a Cutting Board
A well-made cutting board isn’t disposable. It’s a tool you use daily, a surface for family meals, holiday spreads, and quiet weeknight dinners. That’s why material selection and finishing matter just as much as design.
At Reynolds Woodworking, I work primarily with durable hardwoods like black walnut, maple, and specialty accent woods, chosen not only for their beauty but for their long-term performance in the kitchen. Each board is shaped, sanded, and inspected by hand to ensure clean edges, balanced weight, and a smooth working surface.
No two boards are ever exactly the same—and that’s the point.
The Importance of a Proper Finish
One of the most misunderstood parts of a wooden cutting board is the finish. A good finish doesn’t just make a board look nice—it protects it from moisture, helps prevent cracking, and extends its lifespan for years.
Every Reynolds Woodworking board is finished with food-safe mineral oil, then treated with one of our in-house conditioners like Revive Board Conditioner or Platter Polish. These blends are designed to penetrate the wood, replenish natural oils, and leave a soft, durable surface that’s safe for everyday food prep.
Regular maintenance with a quality conditioner keeps wood hydrated and helps your board age gracefully instead of drying out or splitting.
Built to be Used, Not Just Displayed
While many of our boards are beautiful enough to display, they’re built first and foremost to be used. From bar cutting boards to large charcuterie pieces, the goal is always the same: create something functional, reliable, and enjoyable to work on.
That means thoughtful dimensions, comfortable handles, and finishes that hold up to real kitchen use—not showroom pieces that live on a shelf.
A Legacy of Care and Craft
Reynolds Woodworking isn’t about chasing trends. It’s about carrying forward the values I learned early on—respect for materials, pride in workmanship, and taking the extra step even when no one is watching.
Whether you’re preparing a meal for your family or gifting a board to someone else, you’re getting a piece made with intention, finished by hand, and built to last.
